We were catching them!! I mean BRUISERS!! Unbelievable quality of fish…….WORLD CLASS!! Take a look at some of these monsters. THE REASON………..THE REASON to fish fall walleyes on Rainy Lake. Yep some of the time it will seperate the men from the boys, but RUKIDDING ME?? Keep “Johnny I’m a bit Chilly” at home on this trip boys!! Look at some of these bruisers!! AWESOME JOB GARY AND VIRGIL!! Congrats on all of your freakishly large FALL FOOTBALLS!! Kind of fun to follow these fish as they show up on many of our portable ice fishing destinations, and by the way…..Pretty good sign to see them flat out stacked in some of our first ice spots!! THIS IS GOING TO BE ONE HECK OF A HARDWATER SEASON!!! But until then!! More of the same!!

Biggest fish went 29 1/2 inches You still have time!! Ducks don’t taste good anyway!!

    Hey Buddy,

Yes these Crappies up here can be huge. Funny thing is those fillets are as big as many whole crappies people are used to boating in many other areas of the state. This time of year can truly test your boat control abilities and will power, but can reward you with some of the heaviest fish of the season. We haven’t found a smashing bite, rather a water to syrup pick up. We haven’t had the traditional great plastic bite I’ve been used to either, but I’m OK with jig-n-meat!! Many of the fish we caught this weekend were freakishly heavy!!
