Once again Hats off to all the hardworking folks behind this years Ifalls Bass Tourney. Countless hours of hardwork once again have paid off for our community. The excitement in the area is very refreshing, and although it might not be said nearly enough….Thanks for putting it all together!! It is arguably the most fun we have for families here in the summer!! Talent shows, weigh-ins, bands, beer gardens, boat parades!! Heck I was just about knocked out cold by a flying toostie pop hurled by a fisherman in the thundering frenzy under the tent during the introduction!! Full contact baby!! Very impressive!! Take a bow Team!!

The infamous “Granrud Chin of Glass,” eh?

It was pretty cool seeing all the wrapped go-fast machines up there pre-fishing this past week. Chris, do you know who ended up with the winning weight or were you still waiting for the smelling salts to kick in when the winners took the stage?

Lol!! Local talent, and I’ll have to get the names for ya. 28lbs and some change took top prize. Nice 2 day total considering the conditions. Anglers were greeted with some difficult water this year. For those of you who are unfamiliar with our Bass tourney, fisherman spend one day on the Rainy River, and one day on the lake. Our River is very high, and the lake was much cooler than on a normal year. High winds also greeted the heat seeking sparkly boats. A tip of the hat to the fisherman as they worked hard, and many had tough days boating limited numbers of smaller fish. At the same time some anglers did well especially under the conditions. Fun time was had by all!! If my memory serves me correctly we have limited the field to 60 boats. It is my belief the field is limited to 60 as they don’t wan’t to send more than 30 down the river?? Just my guess??
