    Check out the coloration of this BLACK Rainy Lake walleye Captain John hooked. Not the tip on the tail and fins!! Had a great time fishing with you boys!! Look forward to our houseboat excursion!!

    Nice eye ! Looks like one of the “BLUE” walleye we have started seeing up in Red Lake, Ont. Dan, the owner of Bow Narrows Camp says the “blue” is a pigment in the slime and is like a natural sun block and it is becoming more and more common due to the o-zone layer becoming thinner.

    Hey Fireman,

    We do have a lot of walleyes with some blue hues to them, but this one was Jet Black. A true “Blue” walleye is rare indeed. Funny thing here is the darker the walleye often the deeper water these fish call home.
