I like using high-vis lines. Do I need to tie on a flourocarbon leader when fishing rainy, or are the ‘eyes not line shy.

Remember, walleyes are the same fish that swim into gill nets every spring.

Wissota’s waters are stained brown just like Rainy’s. I’ve never felt disadvantaged by using hi vis orange or yellow lines on Wissota. I suspect Rainy is the same.

    Hi Southpaw,

I’m with Jason on that viewpoint. I personally like a cajun red/phantom red color for my guide rods. I believe the red is plenty visible to the angler, but not nearly as visible to the fish. High VIS lines like the bright green and yellow I don’t personally use. I will use a flouro carbon leader under tough bites, and have noticed some difference under those circumstances.
