Since I mouthed off about lindy rigging I suppose it makes sense to talk about tough bite situations. There are many instances whether it be following cold fronts, hatches or post spawn that fish become nuetral or negative. Understanding the moods of the fish your attempting to boat greatly increases your chances of doing so. If your fishing the day after a 4th of July show courteasy of Ma Nature expect fish to be a bit spooked. Tone down the program. By toning down I’m referring to lightning up, fishing slower, and downsizing. Might need to drop it in their mouths on days like these. Leave the rip jigging and cranks in your bag of tricks. One of my personal favorite post “Freak Out” methods is to tie on a 3 foot run of any INVISIBLE LINE of your choice with a 1/8 oz. H20 jig feathering on 1/3rd of crawler, and hovering it off the bottom with a side to side SLOW SLOW swim!!
