We figured it was time to repost this video knowing that the mid-summer spinner bite should be in full swing now that the fish have found there way to the reefs. For any angler that loves fishing spinners and livebait…. Rainy Lake has got to be one of the best mid-summer destinations in the midwest.

I know you’re a jig man but when you do fish blades what are some of your best colors?

I’m just a casual Rainy guy that pulls spinners from now until October when I also will pitch jigs. My top color hands down is the northland holographic gold except this past weekend the northland purple was so good I didn’t switch back. Have been experimenting with size, but so far this year the #3 is the biggest. Last year went up to the #4 but want to see what happens with the bigger sizes. Last year my son got the biggest at 31″. Love pulling, hate hanging on to 3 ounce bottom bouncers, always use 1/2 crawler.

I’m pretty confident in colors the peak the spectrum. Orange and Chartruesse seem to always produce well for me. With that being said Znak pulls a lot of spinners, and if he says Clear spinners are working I’d listen!!
