I suppose the Might Rainy is going to have to start kicking out 17lb eyes to repay for that workout!! Thanks a ton boys!! Glad we were able to get it done and hit the lake on Sunday!! Congrats Bruce on your PB walleye!! My wallet is feeling $5.00 light!! LOL!!

I gotta believe the “12 up, 12 down” didn’t stop with the wood cutting! Hard work makes me thirsty….it also make the buddies thirsty, especially when I’m buying!

LOL!! Yep we are fortunate to have a lot of good friends!! Funny what a guy will do to catch big walleyes!! I’m not gonna lie to ya there was some muscle lubricant consumed at the Daze Inn after the old school workout!! All work and no play makes for some BORING DAZE!! I even had to bow out of the Limbo contest from sore muscles I didn’t know existed. BTW Here at the Daze Camp we are in training just in case the Olympics decides to add The “LIMBO” anytime in the near future. I call bar holding position or line judge. From Polar Plunges to Limbo contests Everyday is Christmas here on the shores of the infamous Rainy Lake!! Where the fishing is most always good, and FUN is had by all!! Come on up let your hairdown in Vacation land!!

Yep!! That heats our 3 levels plus new addition. About $900.00 in wood cost for us plus labor of course!! Not for the faint of heart on the top of the hill 3 levels high in IFALLS!! LOL!! First year I didn’t have the wood boiler hooked up our electricity bill for January was about $900.00 as we had to run on our electric furnace which is technically our back up source of heat. Trust me didn’t take long to get the boiler piped in after that. That also heats our garage through our Werzbo infloor system!! Pretty nice for the sleds coming off the ice and getting gear ready for morning trips!! 31 below for a month or two has even our technically oversized system burning wood like kleenex Is that all you got!! How many years in a row of below AVERAGE temps do we need before we decide we’re re-entering the ice age??

    Hey Andy,

Always fun sharing the boat with you!! Yes you can tell that they are full of mayflies right now. We did pretty good considering… The great thing about after the mayfly run is the eyes are famished as there is little nutrition in them. Kind of like hitting the chinese buffet……Stuffed and then hungry soon!! Strange huh!!

Let me know when you’ll be back up!! Less work and more play!!

I grew up with a wood burning stove and we cut wood all summer, every weekend it seemed. That was in central SD. I simply can’t imagine how much wood 12 chords is split/stacked up by the house.

I can’t believe anyone thinks it’s cold up there, only been 35 the last two mornings….IN JULY!!!

    Hey Kooty!!

I’m telling ya having a group of 5 with 4 big chainsaws is the ticket for getting the job done. Very easy to spend a summer or good part of the fall chipping away at the project instead of boating fish or chasing feathered friends. I think my buddies realized Lets get this crap done so we can fish the rest of the year!! FINE BY ME!! Yep I’ve got about 15 cords stacked by the boiler, and it looks pretty aggressive, and my wood boiler looks overwhelmed!!
