Rainy Lake ice taking a BEAT DOWN!!

    Things are starting to shape up nicely for the Minnesota fishing opener here on Rainy Lake. A few weeks back I was very skeptical, but if things continue to progress the way they have been expect trophy pike to be on the chew, and many male walleyes mixed with some big females milling around main lake spawning grounds in the “Opener” timeframe. As I’m looking out my window the ice on our bay is giving way to open water, and losing ground quickly!! Get ready Team!! Rainy is going to be on FIRE this year!!

    Seems like just last week you were pulling up some monster slabs through the ice.

    Hey Buddy,

    Funny how quick things can change this time of year!! Just drove past Rainy Lake Houseboats yesterday to talk to my friend Billy and that REALLY gave me the fever!!! Seeing customers kicking back on those big houseboats grilling steaks and pounding big eyes makes me remember why I love Rainy lake!!
