Birchdale, 1 lane open on ramp, fair amount of boats. The fishing was somewhat slow with the water temps hovering around 33 degrees . They guys staying here got 3 eye’s and seen a few others caught talked to one group who had 12.
The landing at Pelland has snow cover on the ramp and is doubtful. The I Falls ramp looks good. The weather looks tough for the next few days.

Yeah, it does look a little cool and there’s a shot at some precip on tuesday, wednesday and thursday.

Thanks for the update on the ramps.

Sounds like the water’s going to be dirty so bright colors will be needed. Chartreuse Orange Core, Chartreuse Pepper, Orange Sherbet, Chartreuse Green Core, etc. As for jig weights I’d bring 1/4 – 1/2. But that’s just my personal preference. Some guys like the heavier jigs but after 10 years of river guiding I’ve never found a need for jigs heavier than 1/2 ounce.

As for jigs, again, go bright. The Tiger Barred Series from B FISH N Tackle Co. would be good choices… particularly the Orange Tiger. That splash of glow won’t hurt either. Sour apple, chartreuse, orange chartreuse.

Sonars go with the green tiger, orange tiger and gold.

    That should cover your bases.

If you want to feel the bottom you will want to use a 3/4 to 1 oz jig. I have had the best luck with the jigs from tom’s tackle. They make a good jig and have lots of colors.

The ramp at frontier should be open about tuesday. The ice is broke up at frontier now.

The fishing on the river continues to be slow all the way down, from the reports I have been getting. One group did boat a 54 inch sturgeon.
I had some guys icefishing the lake out east around blueberry, they kept 4 eater walleye’s and released 12 slot fish,They also caught a few pike and eelpout. They said they had to work hard for them. The weather looks to finally turn around this week which should improve the fishing.

The walleye fishing is picking up,guys are bringing in limits of eaters and releasing some nice ones,Birchdale seems to be the best spot.

I have to second Chris’ thoughts on the Falls Motel.
