This is for the Panfish boys!! Pretty simple concept, but I bet 10% of the guys ACTUALLY do this. When chasing panfish have a heavier rod set up with your favorite Pike presentation. No secret that lakes with BIG PIKE will have you marking big red blobs when chasing some slabs for lunch. Instead of simply trying to wait out that pike, and hoping it will move on so the slabs can filter back through get your micro presentation out of the water and throw down the lunker rig. YOU WILL LAND some of the biggest and baddest pike while fishing panfish. After all if you have effectively located your targeted panfish whether it be Crappies, Gils or perch you will have also located GIANT PIKE!! No reason to pass these fish by!! I like to be rigged with a big hair jig and dead shiner hooked through the head. If catching big fish is still the number one objective it is silly to turn down chances to land them while your out on the ice. If your not already employing this technique you likely have passed many trophy walleyes and pike up already. Good Fishing Boys!!
