just watched video. You guys do a great job at explaining the process. are rainydaze guided ice fishing rates posted on the web? I saw some for winter but it stated a price for follow boat. not sure if that was in refernce to late fall open water

How ’bout those winter rates, Daze? Or is a follow boat the same as a “follow sled?”

…and for that matter, is ther a “follow rate” for the poor fools that fish around the “Daze dummy markers” ?
    …maybe just the dummy/fool tax.

Welcome to IDO Cripple Creek!! Glad you enjoyed the shoot as much as we enjoyed filming it. If you scroll down past all the big walleye pics on the front page of my website I have my winter rates for guiding. I’m guilty for spending too much time on the ice, and not enough time on the website!! Oh well everyone has his/her faults!! I need to update with all these monster “Ice Walleye Pics”. $295.00 per day all inclusive (Gas, Bait, Portable House,6×16 permanent house, and fish packaging) I also rent out the Permanent “Daze Inn” house for $150.00 per day or $225.00 for overnight. Lots of dates still open!! We look forward to fishing with you!!

As for you “Montucky” LOL!! You always crack me up!! I figured you’d like that little system we utilize. Up here we refer to the markers as “Booger Markers” Throw one out, and in a matter of no time you have some “Boogers” circling in on it. Often times in the summer we have boats try anchor in 85 feet of water! LOL!! Haven’t figured out how to get any revenue from it yet, but do get a heck of a lot of dirty looks, and chuckles from clients!! It is fun as my customers always know that the markers are just reference points for us. Afterall why would you want to throw a marker where the fish are?? Then you are fighting the marker all day!! And no matter how good of a fight it puts up you have to cook the heck out of it!!

Rainydaze Guide Service is much more than good at catching big fish!! Plenty entertaining also!!

Hey Wack – I actually did that 3 1/2 years ago. Left a good paying job with very nice benefits for border country. Bottom line – more time to fish and less money to spend. It wasn’t all about the fishing but that certainly didn’t fall under a “reason not to”. I love my present job (doing the creel survey on Rainy Lake) but it’s seasonal and then work part time the remainder of the year.

If anybody out there is thinking seriously about moving up it can be done but can also be a trying time. Without launching into a long discourse it’s a different culture, climate, way and pace of life that brings a mixture of good, refreshing, making adjustments, difficulty, etc. that sometimes makes you go…..

and other times saying….. Are you kidding??????

And oh by the way Wack, a real “warm” welcome to the IDO crowd from someone who, after last week, has a little more appreciation for warm.

Thanks very much Uffda! I have been to Rainy (Am. side) 3 times and each time was nothing short of great. I do know some about the lifestyle however, having a few relitives living there for a while. I am ,shall we say retired, and do not have to worry about income. I want to spend all my(and wife) time outdoors wacking fish. thanks for your input

Trust me the Queen and I built a home here on Rainy a few years ago, and it was a dream come true for both of us. Obviously we LOVE FISHING. It isnt’ just a job for us. We fish when we’re not guiding also!! In fact the Queen gets a little “Pouty” in the summer when I’m on 20 day runs on the lake. All she does is load big walleye pics on the internet!! POOR QUEEN!! We picked up a little Lund Rebel last year that I’m hoping she’ll be able to fire up and chase some fish on her own when we get hectic during the summer!!

We both really enjoy chasing ruffed grouse with our little “Hamster on Cocaine” Brittany Spaniel. Unfortunatley last fall was so unbelievable for monster walleyes it was tough to decide what to do. Good problem to have I guess!! Gotta love Rainy Lake!! Truly Gods Country here!!
