Yesterday as my buddy and I came off the River from a fantastic evening of fishing we were feeling pretty darn good!! Until my buddy received the call that everyone dreads receiving. There was a motorcycle accident with a fatality close to the Falls, and there was a possibility it was a long time family friend. Minutes later after praying against the odds the fears were confirmed. Although I personally only had met this outdoorsman a few times he was a good man, friend, father, and lifeleong sportsman. He had a collision with a deer on his cycle. He wasn’t an IDO member, but he was a fellow fisherman and deer shack guy. He will be sorely missed by my good friend and his family, and our prayers will be with them. Please be advised the Deer are on the move this time of year. There have been many car/deer accidents as of late. Not only are the Bucks on the move, but all deer gravitate to road sides to find the last green for eating. So please as you head north this fall be careful. Life can change in a instant. So in memory of a fellow outdoorsman may we all take one extra cast, stay an extra 1/2 hour on our stand, and drill an extra hole on the ice, or come back for the second week of deer camp. My guess would be in reflection we all wish we would have.
