Anyone have any info on the water levels on Rainy? Have they come up at all?
I am coming up in late August and was curious.

They have been fairly steady for the last couple of weeks, which is down about 3.5-4 ft. The lake looks really strange if you have been there in the last couple of years.

Here is a link so you can monitor the levels up until your trip:

That’s pretty low. I was up last summer when it was 3-4 ft higher than normal.
Any trouble with any of the boat landings on the Canadian side?

The only one that I used was at the Sorting Gap on the river, and it was no problem at all.

I was on the Canadian side 7/4 to 7/11. I used the ramp in Ft Francis and the one at Crow Rock with no problem. I also used the new Hot Spots map software on a X-15 and found it to be very accurate. Good luck and travel safely.

    Crossin,

I will be heading back up 8/29 to chase smallies. If you see a Green Ranger 619, give me a wave.

The water level is still low as of the Labor Day weekend. We fished mainly the Northern sections of Rainey. Smallies were scattered and holding 8-10 feet deep. Here’s a pic of Paula’s catch. Note the light spinning rig she caught the toothy critter on.

There’s an article in the Journal today that lake level is now normal. Also the smaller lakes are froze over.
