    Hey ya’ Steve!~

Welcome aboard. I’m sure all the visitors to the site will appreciate all the Rainy Lake info headed their way in the near future now that you’ve started working with us here at EFN.

One question…. when’s the best time to come for top water smallie action? Over the last couple years I’ve followed the weights brought in for a couple of the premiere bass tourneys that hit your area and the weights are unbelieveable! Each year the bags get heavier and heavier…..!

Thanks for any info you might be willing to share.

    James,

Rest assured, I will let you know when the conditions are right for the topwater smallie bite. Rainy Lake is a premier smallie fishery and a must stop for any serious angler. There are lots of three pound plus smallies in this beautiful pine-studded, rocky border lake.

Sean Colter and I fish the Canadian Bass Championship and yes, the weights are phenominal everyday for the three day tournament.

If you want to experience this first hand, let me know, you will be welcomed aboard my boat anyday. The topwater bite usually starts in late June and continues throughout the summer. See ya up here. Oh, and don’t forget your Skitterpops and your camera!!!!
