The good news is the weather on the opener was better than on Friday and the temps warmed to just above 40 early Sat. am.
Walleyes cooperated for most who traveled east of the Brule. The west end was less consistent. 60% of the anglers caught walleyes according to interviews for the creel survey. The Lt. Governor caught 15 walleyes, 4 perch and a 29″ pike on the west end. The Governor caught a few less walleyes but caught the first one and the biggest at 23+.

The hot weather the past few days up has really turned on the walleyes, smallmouth and pike. Crappies as of yesterday were still a mystery. Water temps over 60 in the shallow bays should have them going but it’s been very sporadic so far.
