Walleye Update

Walleye action remains pretty good on Rainy’s south shore. With little to no wind the last four days the bite wasn’t as fast as the action the week before, however catching fish, and lots of them was the norm. We’ve been fishing the bays in 4 to 10ft using jigs, spinners, and rapalas. The majority of the eyes are still in the 20 to 24in range, however there is getting to be a nice mixture between slot and keeping, and nice limits are easier to catch.

Schmitty – South shore, are you fishing east of the brule in the channel? Looks nice and calm!

Grindstone, yes we’ve been fishing there, and everywhere from Rainy Lake Houseboats base to Kettle Falls. A lot of the reason those pictures look so calm is because we had little to no wind for about 4 days in a row. If you were sitting in the middle of the lake on a reef it would have looked just as calm.
