River closure

    I know the walleye season on the river ends April 14, but does that mean it’s closed to keeping fish or to fishing in general? Even catch and release. Forgive me I’m Canadian and want to do some fishing on my days off starting April 22 lol.

    You can fish, just can’t target any closed species like walleye. Typically, once walleye closes, the sturgeon anglers show up in force.

    You could go sucker fishing. Bull heads or ell pout.
