Thought I’d share a few photos from the weekend of September 14th. We caught a 37″, 39.25″, 39.25″, 39.5″ and 41.75″ northern casting in deeper bays. Nothing huge but still was a good time. All fish were landed with a cradle and released. First time using a cradle, but for 45 bucks on sale I couldn’t pass it up.

    Those are pretty nice fish!

May I asked what presentations were working for you? We were up a couple weeks later and didn’t fare as well.

We tried everything I had, spoons, swimbaits, jerkbaits, crankbaits, big jigs, bucktails and the only thing that worked was red/white spoons. Johnson Silver Minnow was the best for us, around a 1 oz size.

Nice job! That’s about as simple as it gets putting the old spoon to good work.

That sounds like us with trying the kitchensink. Red/white was about the only color I didn’t try in spoons. I threw multipe different brands by the end of the trip too(daredevle, cleo, williams wabbler, silver Johnsons, and discount). We couldn’t crack the code.

One wierd lure was a very large spinnerbait with a couple of willow blades. Other spinnerbaits that were a bit smaller did not produce.
