Never fished it and have an opportunity to take a week in early Sept. Love to catch and release smallies but prefer staying in a cabin close to the water. A little seclusion is what I always look for but having the smallies not far away is always a good thing too! Thanks for any help.

I have stayed at Island View and Thunderbird Lodge. I would recommend Thunderbird.

Island view has some cabins that are close to the water. Also try camp Idlewood just outside of Rainer they have just remodeled their cabins. Also might try camp narrows on the Canadian side but it is a boat to resort and Taylors up near Bears pass is good.

These places are all ok to stay at,the thing you need to be more concerned about if you are searching for smallies is the area on the lake you plan to target. The lake on the American side west of the Brule Narrows can be a little tough for bass .Theres a lot of good looking water that just doesn’t hold bass in numbers, you need to target the South arm.
