Nobody draws up a 30 degree temperature drop for your fishing excursion, but despite the weather we did quite well. Biggest Walleye taped 25 inches on the beans and also landed this nice bonus 7lb Whitefish. I still will argue the Whitefish is the best “Tablefare” that swims Rainy Lake. Fish seem to be in transition.

Chris, I’ll trade you 7 slender spoons 2 Demond jigs and 1 jigging rap for that whitefish! YUM!!!

    Chris-
Are you able to actually target the Whitefish up there? Or is it a more random here and there type of deal?

We actually catch most of our whitefish when we are chasing slabs. The Whitefish and Crappies like to feed upon the same bug hatches out on the mud. Then we will commonly catch a few a day.

Sounds like a tempting trade Tim, but I’m afraid you wouldn’t like the Whitefish meat in it’s current formation; We ate it!!

Yeah we’re still on some pretty good fish and just hoping Mother Nature can throw us 2 consecutive days of weather. LOL!!
