Big thanks to the Rainydaze S&D team for all the hard work this weekend. This marked our 4th annual “Wood-4-Walleyes” event in which the team simply decimates 12 loggers cords of wood like a pack of angry beavers. In a mere 5 hours of time 12 cords of wood were cut, hauled and neatly stacked atop Mt. Daze!! Mere childsplay for this team. Only casualty of the aggressive weekend was my finger who lost a battle with a big log and seems to be broken. Considering 5 Stihl Chainsaws and wood being thrown in to the truck like a indy Pit cre changing tires……We scoff at the damaged digit. Oh…….And I did NOT CRY!!

The rest of the weekend found Kelly, TJ, Andy, Bruce, Tuck, Mike and “New Comer Nate” talking smart, soaking bait, sharing great food and enjoying priceless stories. Special thanks to the unsung hero…… “Mother Nature” for holding down temperatures and not crying on our great weekend.

Kelly set the stage for opening morning by waking up the crew with hot coffee and her feverishly clever Cream cheese filled carmel rolls…..That nearly induced a diabetic coma for the entire team!!

Again thanks to all of our wonderful friends!! We so deeply appreciate your friendship and help each fall!!

Now that the work is done…Lets harvest game and net fish for another action packed season!!

Pictured here is about 15 cords of wood stacked for our wood boiler “Sweaty Betty”.

The foggy backdrop provided a majestic backdrop to a group of friends looking to barb fall fish!!

Pictured here Mike and Bruce stare down the Humminbird as Walleyes swoop off the bottom and paste H20 Precision jigs and Shiners!!

How about a little “Hors de Vours” consisting of Jalepeno peppers stuffed with Cream cheese, grouse breasts and thick smoked bacon!! A slow burn on the grill makes this “Northwoods” treat one to remember.

A little taken back by the lack of steak the team was able to consume, but all in all…….Nice effort!!

Pictured here Kelly and I watch the team getting busy as the food line moves slowly in the Daze Guest quarters!!

A few glasses of wine and table covered with good eats, make life up north with good friends truly priceless!!

The lonely cry of “GET THE FRABILL” pierce the fog each morning in “Sho-Time”.

AWESOME WALLEYE HERE worth $25.00 for Bruce in the daily contest. Pretty brave letting anyone of those guys place the circle of trust around a Money fish. I suppose the hard blow to the head Andy took last year might have clogged his brain while he efficiently nets the winner that ends up costing him dearly.

Smallies more suitable for a nick-name like “Biggies” invade many Walleye haunts.

Pictured here Nate and Andy proudly display a mitt full of BRONZE!!

As my 2012 open water season winds down the guys wearing the Skeeter caps are as tired as the Skeeter itself. It’s been a simply amazing open water season and I truly thank our incredible group of anglers who choose to fish with us. Thanks for allowing me to live the dream.

Hard to pick a winner here, eh Chris?!

Congrats on another successful open water season. I’ve got a few more weeks of summer stuff to get done then… BRING ON THE ICE!

7 years ago I made a decision to leave a stable career to fulfill a lifelong dream of fishing on a daily basis. I’ve never regretted taking a chance on myself. I can say I am very luck to have the best friends, family and beautiful girl in my life a guy could ever ask for. Beyond that……Fishing and Hunting rules the roost here in “Manland”.

Holst……..has taken things to another level and is obviously brilliant at what he does. A man is good at what he does when he enjoys putting his boots on each day. With that being said IMHO to reach the true paradigm of success you truly need to love your career. I believe both the “Great Oz” of IDO and this crazy fishing guide are fortunate enough to be in that position.
