Going for first time. Will be doing RLH.Looking for bait suggestions for that time of year.Have read posts going back to last summer and got a few ideas.Would be equally happy catching walleye,SM,pike.crappie.Also may chuck for muskie a couple days till the shoulder has enough.Just looking for a few good baits. Is water stained enough for braided line.Do you do mono or fc leaders.Planning on staying on US side and probably stay in western part of the lake.Lastly anyone have a good check list of item to take on houseboat that may save an O.S. moment. Thanks for any help.Steve

    Hi Steve,

On the tackle front anglers can get as creative or simple as they choose. A pocket full of jigs in August can produce a week’s worth of tank Walleyes. Slip bobbers and Jolly Roger Spinner rigs would also be within my “Go To” presentations.

Some guys like to speed troll big Tail Dancers from Rapala on either windblown breaks or over top sunken reefs. Big Eyes and Big Pike can put a good bend in your rod.

As for a list to bring on the houseboat I’d suggest sending Billy or Wendy an email and I’m sure they have a complete list readily available for your use.

RLHB will take good care of you. Here’s to a great trip of both fishing and relaxation.

Don’t mind helping at all Steve. Nobody can possibly blame you for getting a bit jacked up before the big trip. BTW put the heat to the Walleyes today on a 1/2 day trip with longtime customers. Such a beautiful day on the lake with not only great customers, but even better friends. Here’s a shot of one of our doubles today. LIFE……..IS GOOD!!
