We are trying to plan a rainy lake houseboat adventure for our fishing group of 7. We are going with Northeraire houseboats Aug 10 to 17. Does anyone have any pointers, suggestions, or words of wisdom? This is our 1st houseboat and 1st time on Rainy. Thanks,

That’s an awesome time of year to be there!

1.Bring a lot of boat gas with you, you’ll save money
2.always try and moor your boat out of the weather, wind sucks, mooring ropes break, and boats escape, trust me, I know.
    3. If you plan to venture real far to the east, make sure you have plenty of groceries and whatever else, once you get into the park theres nothing, and it can be a long trip to the store depending upon what you have for a boat motor.
    4. Don’t use the site on the Saginaw side of the Kempton channel, it’s a wind trap!
