While Memorial day for many anglers has simply become a weekend away with the family to a favorite fishing destination; Please take a moment to remember those who gave us our freedom and fought for the Stars and Stripes. The Veterans of the United States of America are owed our eternal gratitude. Toast the Soldiers at your cookouts with family and friends. Tell your children of all ages what Memorial day is all about beyond another day off school. Raise your flags in honor and where Red, white, and blue with pride.

I’ve not given my blood to my country. I’ve not been asked to lay my life down for the prosperity of a stranger. What I can say is I hold great respect and admiration for those soldiers who toe’d the line when America needed a hero!!

As a simple fishing guide I vow to hook one up in honor of the brave men and women whom allow guys like myself to live in peace and prosperity. The true hero’s of our country don’t hit 500 foot homeruns. The true hero’s of our country don’t run over linebackers at the goal line. The true hero’s of our country have fallen while engaged with evil for our nations freedom. The True hero’s of our country might today be in a far away land making sacrifices most of us could never even imagine. The TRUE hero’s of our country will be honored this weekend!!

Hi Chris. Thank you for honoring ALL Veterans like myself(8 yrs. USMC Force Recon) and my son, who served 20 months on the front lines in Iraq. It’s was our honor to serve this GREAT Country of ours. This weekend, my son and I will honor
all Veterans, too. Past & present. We give thanks to ALL that never made it home and their familes, too. Take care and have a great night & rest of the holiday weekend. Thanks again!

My Dad’s dad served in WWII. He was a navy-man on the USS Bougainville. Drafted.

My Mom’s dad was a marine in Korea. Drafted.

My Dad was a Navy fireman in Da Nang. Drafted.

I would be lying if I said I didn’t have mixed feelings about it all…but they were all noble men…no doubt.

Thanks to them and all the others.

    JP
