Those of you visiting Rainy Lake this summer; Did you know the Thunderbird lodge can prepare your Walleye caught during the day with one of the areas top chefs? While you relax in either the bar or dining room the staff at Thunderbird lodge will take care of you while the amazing chefs prepare your catch of the day.

I brought my customers to the Thunderbird lodge after a guide trip and we tested out the meal. All I can say is it was simply awesome. Frankly I’ve eaten my share of Walleye. This was THE best prepared Walleye I’ve ever eaten. ALL of my customers agreed 100%. We’re thinking of doing it again tomorrow!! LOL!!

Keep this in mind this summer. It’s just another FUN way to top off a great day of fishing here on Rainy lake. Let the Thunderbird Lodge and Supper Club WOW you and your friends!!

The Meal consisted of a Tossed or Caesar Salad, Bread and rolls, A side consisting of either hashbrowns, Fries, wild rice, baked potato or mixed veggies. It also comes with a corn fritter and honey. Then of course YOUR WALLEYE!! I believe the cost was $11.99.

I will be having a lot of these meals!! Who wants to take the 2 hours to clean, prepare and clean up after fishing anyway!! BTW the Thunderbird dock boys will even clean your catch! Please tip the kids for their work. This is NOT required, but the kids work hard while we relax.

That sounds like a great meal. Would it be out of line for me to drive from Alexandria with the fish I caught here for supper?

LOL!! I’ll join ya!! The meal was wonderful. Honestly…..Dock boy cleans your fish and you throw him a few bucks. Again OPTIONAL in the tip department. Still I like keeping those guys happy. Then it is prepared for you while you sit back and re-cap your fishing adventure with your friends for $11.99? BARGAIN!!

I think it is great!! Honestly they have been doing this for sometime, but I just apparently had overlooked the option. I do however know before becoming a fishing guide how nice it would have been to have others clean and then prepare my catch while I relaxed….ON VACATION in the comforts of a nice supper club on the shores of Rainy lake. Again….$11.99? I’m all in and figured others too might find this to be a nice way to enjoy a fresh catch!!

Island View Lodge does this as well, but you have to clean your own fish.

Can June 27th come soon enough? A day’s fishing in Gods Country, the sights and sounds of spectacular Rainy Lake, and now our own ‘eyes cooked up by the chefs of Thunderbird! Now, that’s a Master Card moment. Only thing is we’ll now need to make sure to catch some “keepers”. And yes, make sure to tip the dock boys. They really do deserve it. One question for you; how many walleye dinners before you order the Prime Rib?
