For some anglers the massive Smallmouth Bass of Rainy Lake keep them awake at night. The chunky “Bronzebacks” that inhabit these tea stained waters often lurk under presentations only to later explode upwards while inhaling it. The visual aspect of Shallow Water angling keeps fisherman’s eyes glued to offerings throughout the retrieve.
Smallies are a muscle packed fish that will test the wrist strength of the average man. Though bass might receive a bit less press than the Walleye any serious Smallmouth angler knows full well Rainy Lake is simply “World Class Water” with a heavy tint of Bronze.
In due respect to the elite caliber Smallmouth that grace our boat; TODAY Saturday May 19th the Bronze steps to the top of the podium here at the “Daze Camp”.
