Both Muskie anglers and Big Pike fisherman understand the importance of a a premium quality capture net when it comes to efficiently landing elite caliber fish. New this year for Rainydaze Guide Service is the add of Frabills “Big Kahuna” Power Catch net.

This net is frankly “MASSIVE” in size featuring a 40×44 hoop opening easily allowing anglers to both capture and unhook large fish without ever needing to remove the fish from the water. It is well known that most of the damage that takes place to a fish is in the net laying in the bottom of the boat. A big fish will often spin and wrap itself in nets not designed for large species of fish. This process can do great damage to the fins, tail and mouth. It is truly our responsibility as conservation minded anglers to ensure proper release of trophy caliber fish. Partnered up with Frabill; Fisherman across the country have embraced the brilliant design of the “BIG KAHUNA”. I truly did my homework on this net. I read up on this extensively before adding this as my official big game net to my guide boat. The larger than life “Tangle Free/ Knotless” mesh is much easier on the the fish than the tradtional designs and nearly eliminates hooks being entangled in the mesh. The mesh on this net has a nylon coating that keeps those hook FREE!! I also noted the increased square mesh size allowing increased speed through the water in the netting process considering the massive size of this net.

For me this was a “NO BRAINER” and something honestly I wish I would have added MANY years ago to my boat. Not only does it scream conservation, but truly enables anglers to properly Catch, Photo and Release fish unharmed. This not only mimimizes damage to the fish, but also the angler. Lord knows I’ve lost a bit of blood and visited the local hospital on occassion after unhooking these beasts!! Fisherman like myself that actively target large species of fish like Northern Pike, Muskie, Lake Trout and Salmon would be well served by adding the “Big Kahuna” to the boat.

After unhooking the fish that is still completely unharmed while finning upright in the water we then position ourselves for quality photo. We are able to plan the picture based on the sun position and backdrop of the shot before grabbing the fish for the picture. After a couple quick shot we then gently ease her back into the water.

The Frabill “Big Kahuna” truly is the best net I’ve ever used as a conservation minded angler who not only catch big fish, but wants to ensure she’ll be properly released unharmed for future anglers to enjoy.

This picture illustrates how yesterday’s 37 inch Northern easily can remain upright in the water within the cofines of the “Big Kahuna”. While one angler holds the net the other fiherman is able to grab the camera before a quick photo. All the while the trophy fish is unharmed and remains in the water.

When showing up to pick up customers at local resorts the “Big Kahuna” clearly shows our anglers we’re here to capture the beast…….and ensure a proper release!!

This net frankly SCREAMS……….”MANLAND”. BTW this is pictured in the bow of my 2011 WX2100 “Sho-Time”. YES…..The net is large!! I could probably net Black Bears with it.

The Paradigm of big fish hunting ends with the picture of our customers proudly holding a personal trophy. Knowing the trophy fish was Hooked, Captured, Unhooked, Photo’d and efficiently released makes everyone in the boat proud of the accomplishment.

I highly encourage fiberglass replication of our customers elite caliber fish. Though not demanded 40 inch fish will never have the chance to become 45 inch fish after choosing a skin mount. Fiberglass replications are beautiful and last forever…….And so does your trophy in which we dilligently photo to have placed right next to your trophy in your cabin before releasing.

The only thing in my mind that adds to a big fish story is the proud fisherman who explains how he/she decided the thrill of releasing the fish for future generations to enjoy equals the initial catch.

Thanks Frabill………DOMINATE NET!! BEST OF THE BEST

Congrats Bill!! Beautiful Rainy lake Pike

yea that big kahuna is a BIG net my dad won one of them and we used it for a while but then we found out that it took up to much room in our boat. Awesome net for those big pike and muskies.

Bought one this year and it swallows huge sturgeon.
The heavy mesh is nice to grab onto and heave them heavy s.o.bs in the boat
