In the pictures some of them fish look 6 foot long, how big were they actually?
Looks like nice fish either way.

I would guess they are from yesterday. Nice pike, can’t wait for my own Canadien adventures.

Way to go Chris! Those are some darn nice looking fish there….Hope you duplicate the catch this year again and maybe land a 30+ pounder!

Thanks AJ!! You’ve read my mind Bro!! I have one thing in my sights right now; 48 inch pike Plus or 30lbs!! I’m really not that picky.
BTW with the overwhelming response to my 1st Annual Rainy River Run in 2013 I am also contemplating a similiar Monster Pike outing. Prior to Minnesota’s traditional inland fishing opener. If I do end up putting this together we’ll have a smaller group. Truly the trip for “Gator Heads”. Keep in mind we can fish Pike all year here on Rainy.
This sort of group centered trip will allow me to help many with a great price deduction for everyone on Lodging, Meals and Guide rates!!
you’re killing me, isn’t 3 trips with Rainydaize enough for one year!! Now you dangle the pike carrot in front of me.

I am a “Carrot Dangler” If it weren’t for fishing trip anticipations……Geez what would we have to look forward to. I just hope to limp out of the pike season with all of my digits attached. BTW local doctors will agree that I’ve tested the limits there.
22.5lbs = 6 thumb stitches……Of course AFTER the guide trip!! The “Fishing Queen” was NOT excited about my decision to fish it out!!

Count me in on that one!

If we put it together we’d love to have you. I won’t be even starting the groundwork for something like this until say June. It would be fun, but I need to really look at the logistics on this. I’d like to do a Canadian Side Outing and US side outing on two seperate runs. Guys in boats……Need to stay in our wake or risk losing some metal.
cnadaian side! I have fished the northwest bay are for a number of years. always put in at the govenment landing. would maybe run 15-20 miles a day. A good lake master chip sure helps out for navigation… Lots of hazards on the lake like you said it sure is nice to have a wake to follow on this type of water especially if your not familiar with the area.
I know all about losing metal. lost my lower unit on a big rock up near the weather station on the lower manitou. needless to say it was a long long long ride back to essoxs landing~ never seen another boat along the 35 miles we had to go. on the up side it gave us plenty of fishing time on the way out. LOL!

LOL!! Don’t feel alone for donating some metal to Rainy!! Those who claim to have not brushed Granite have not likely experienced some of the finest water. Lord knows I’ve donated some hardware to the Lower Unit Graveyard!! What I will say is I got my monies worth on that one. Here is something else I’m confident in saying…..Probably won’t be my last rock leveling attempt.
I remember that day like it was yesterday! Thats the biggest fresh water fish Ive ever caught and I will never forget it! Thanks for all the awesome memories Chris

A northern get-to-gether might be nice, keep us posted.
