In November one of my best friends passed away. I’ve always triend to spin negative events into a positive add to others lives. I believe my friend would be honored to be part of this. Reid was my best friend in High School and a good friend through my early adult life. He passed away way to young and it still keeps me awake some nights thinking of us as two young boys addicted to the outdoors. We shared many days together in the boat, fish house and duck blind. We cranked out boxes of steel shot with few ducks to show for our efforts. We sat shoulder to shoulder in a crude portable house lit by a clogged “Old School” lantern not wanting to go home. We built small permanent fish houses in our parents garages, and spent the winters peering down at our bobbers while others watched football. It saddens me that today I’m only left with these memories, but puts a smile on my face remembering so many great times in the outdoors. The single greatest thing about my career as a fishing guide is to watch the enjoyment that takes place with our fisherman. BIG FISH……I assure you are a bonus in comparison to the ribbing, joking and all around good times we have with our customers. I’d never trade ONE day of work for a day my good friend and I spent soaking bait. I’ve wanted to do something in remembrance of my fallen friend that promotes calling up YOUR old buddy. Sharing the ice or boat chasing the wild fish of Rainy Lake. I’ve struggled with a way to pay tribute to a friend. Here is what I’ve come up with to start. For the next 2 weeks ANY trip that is booked with our guide service will be at our base rate for just 2 guys. SO……BRING A FEW FRIENDS!! There will be NO charge for extra guys up to 4 people. This will be a $75.00 to $150.00 savings per day. Of course this allows these groups to further spread out the cost of a trip. These trips can be winter trips this year or next year. This is valid for open water trips in 2012!! All I ask is you fish with your friends old and new while leaving the “Hustle and Bustle” of todays world back at home. Everybody needs the ability to unplug, and after you unplug from the hectic world we live in I’ll plug you back into the world of fishing on Rainy Lake!!! I only wish I had the chance to fish with my buddy again. Please don’t pass up the chance to fish with yours!! ]

Pictured here is a small sampling of some good customers that always make the trek up north with good fishing buddies!!

Love it Chris! Your the man, and truly understand why we are all out there soaking baits, usually not just for the fish but for the time we spend out there away from everything else. I know your friend is watching down sending a few bigger fish your way to brighten your days. We all need to enjoy the time we get out in the field more and make memories that won’t be forgotten. I wish only big fish to your clients and ourselves in a few weeks! Right on buddy!!!
