Roughly 22 days from now the Northern Minnesota rifle season will open up. Orange has already dominated local jacket colors in passing trucks. RU READY!!

As always I’ve started my let’s get in shape for the big hunt a couple days ago. They say 20 days forms a habit, and I figure about 3 weeks can take the edge off the “Cushy” side of my career on the water and get me at least a little “MEAN” as I head into the woods.

Time to MAN UP MEN!! I DO believe my wife and daughter might think I’ve gone overboard wearing my climber on the treadmill. Silly girls!!

As always where I’ll be hunting the deer usually have the expression “What the **** is that guy doing way back here!!”

LIVE IT MEN!! You’ll never get the 2011 Deer season back again!! Someday those old pics your kids and grandkids will be looking at……..They’ll be from this years hunt!!

I am getting so pumped my neck is starting to swell.
Can not wait until I can get to deer camp and relax.
November 2nd 3:00 pm can’t come soon enough to get the Dodge and Airstream pointed North.

Only a true deer hunter can comprehend the feeling of not only “Deer Camp”, but the drive to it. No need to even try explain it. Best of luck to your camp this season. Stay Safe!!

Someone needs to explain to me why my sons orchestra teacher scheduled a concert the tuesday of the rifle season. With my work schedule that is when we were going to be in deer camp. Now we have to wait for the muzzleloader season. Clueless teachers I tell ya….

im sorry, but if it were my kid we would be skipping the concert and going hunting together……. then again i grew up in a small town where when new teachers scheduled things during deer season or on fishing opener and such they learned a quick lesson that nobody would be there……

Good luck on your guys hunts!

Trust me, that is me also. The only problem is whenever he complains about practicing, I have been telling him that he picked it and needs to stick with it. Damn life lessons…..

I’ll be missing it for the 2nd straight year as I will be spending a week in Barcelona for my masters program. We don’t get back until Sunday of 1st weekend then we have 3 weeks to wrap up the project. 2012 can’t come fast enough!!!

I remember back when I was still in high school taking a full week out of school “Up North” hunting. We happened to be going through the verb section in our spanish class. I will admit my spanish has been lacking ever sense. Still I sure gained a big passion for the woods, and the education in that ole school bus with deer antlers on the hood………PRICELESS!!
