Swimming for the Border!!

Took a quick snapshot of this nice buck found swimming deep into Voyageurs National Park here on Rainy lake the other day. This buck (Still in velvet) was found swimming nearly 1 1/2 miles out into big water and looking to seemingly head across another 1-2 mile stretch. We didn’t want to frighten the deer forcing it to utilize any extra energy it surely was going to need for the aggressive swim across the border!!

Fishing remains excellent though I must admit this buck had me daydreaming of days to come!!

If they find a DUI on his record, he’s going to be bummed finding out he has to swim back.

    Cool picture.

Not much of a hole shot in the water but when he hits dry land watch out.

I am always amazed to see them swim at all with hoofs for paddles and then to take on a challenge like that!!! Amazing!!!
