GENTLEMAN!! 3 single spots remain open for next week’s Rainy Lake Houseboat excursion. Slide on in!! Don’t be left on the sidelines wondering how the IDO boy’s are doing on this years trip. Be part of the 2011 In Depth Outdoors/Rainy Lake Houseboats BIG FISH BEATDOWN!! Heck kids are back to school and isn’t it time for a little “Dad time with the boys”. Live a little and burn some steaks on the grill overlooking the magical wilderness abound in Voyageurs National Park.

I need confirmation from James on this one, but there also may possibly be room for 1 full houseboat if you have your own group last minute. More the merrier in my book; Everyday is Christmas when your fishing on Rainy lake!! (The gift that just keeps on giving all year long baby)

When do you take off on the 14th? When do you get back, time wise?

We’ll be departing Rainy lake Houseboats on the morning of the 14th and arriving back to the docks on Sunday the 18th. Most guys tend to pack up camp and arrive back to RLHB mid-day on Sunday allowing guys to get back home should they be working on Monday.

Very cool. Any chance if guys get a wild hair this weekend we could add one more boat bud?? This year there has been a lot of last minute planning. I CAN’T WAIT to board the Houseboat!! Temps in the extended forecast are showing mid 60’s with light winds…….BLESS AMERICA!!

    Hey Chris,
I’m on one of the IDO houseboats next week on Rainy. What’s your guess on bait for the walleye? Are they still going on 3/16th precision jigs and minnows?
Will there be bait provided for the houseboats or should each boat plan on picking up their own?
    Thanks!

Each group will need to purchase their own bait for the trip. Shiners, fatheads and Rainbows will all be effective. Jigs and Minnows, and spinner rigs are just 2 effective presentations going right now. Don’t be afraid to even rig up slip bobbers if the conditions present themselves. You’ll want to pick up your bait at the Rainy Lake One Stop. They are located on the right hand side of Hwy 11 about 4 miles out of Ifalls right on your way to Rainy lake Houseboats!!

+1 for Rainy 1stop. They also have tackle for that last minute hot bait or jig color.
