FINALLY!! Able to break away from a simply awesome walleye bite to start pinpointing some of our infamous Rainy lake Crappies. These fish are just starting to congregate in larger numbers and you can expect the fishing to only improve all the way into October now. Rainy Lake Crappies will follow large movements of lake shiners into both rock piles and current runs. Our go to presentation either involves slow rolling a Jolly Roger spinner rig with a small fathead or pitching 1/8 oz H20 precision jigs/Flu-Flu’s.

Biggest slab today measured 13.5 inches.

Hey Chris, would the American Channel on the way to Kettle Falls Hotel qualify as a “current run”?

It sure would Joe although I haven’t targeted Crappies there.
