We had the pleasure of sharing Rainy Lake with 9 guys who love pulling out walleyes and flat out having fun!!! Rainy Lake Houseboats proved to be the perfect escape from the modern day “Hustle and Bustle” of today’s world. Life if only for one week was about catching fish, soaking up sunshine, listening to loons, and laughing it up for this crew. I took 2 follow boat along with 3 in my boat and we set out after Rainy Lakes beautiful walleyes. Fishing was good as we ended up with 28 solid eater fish and a number of nice slot fish. Biggest fish of the trip was 25.5 inches.
Guys if you haven’t taken a trip into Voyageurs National Park on a Rainy Lake Houseboat this is simply a MUST!! I know as a fishing guide this might seem odd, but honestly sometimes catching big walleyes can be a sideline to the enjoyment of the entire experience.
I get to attend one Houseboat trip a year and that is the one coming up here in September, and even living here on the lake I can honestly say it is one of my favorite times of the whole year!!

First off you are a TOP NOTCH guide! Not only do you excell at putting us right on the fish, you are also a great teacher and fisherman too. I really enjoyed our trip in your boat as well as the follow trip later in the week. You really helped shorten the learning curve for our group.
