The Wilson Team headed up north to experience Rainy lake Walleyes and Sha-Sha nights!! The setting of Sha-Sha resort is situated with a simply breathtaking view of Voyageurs National Park. If you haven’t sat back on the Decks of Sha-Sha with an infamous “Rainy Lake Tea” in your hands I would highly suggest it.
Our day on the water with the Wilsons really proved once again how critical boat control and a finely tuned presentations can make. Both of our follow boats though trying very hard really struggled that day while our boat simply tagged the fish. 23 walleyes exceeding 20 inches. Although I attempted to try get the entire fleet on the fish seemingly small differences in boat positioning and speed and possibly the one on one discussions can make all the difference in the world.
In discussions with some of my good friends whoma are also guides we came to the conclusion that too often anglers figure the spot is all it is about. I assure you contrary to that thought process the presentation is likely more important than even the spots this time of year. For groups considering a follow boat I would highly suggest allowing us to use 2 guides to truly give your entire group the one on one service and experience needed to hammer big walleyes. As I’ve mentioned before when I’m not available upon booking your trip I WILL find you another very good fishing guide. These guys work closely with Rainydaze Guide Service and are handpicked by me. If your group calls for 2-3 guides as always please try give us some leadtime to book your guides.
The Wilson Boys in “Sho-Time” nearly wore out our net with big fish and I bet got a bit of ribbing that night!! Great fish boys and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting and fishing with your entire team. I sincerely hope you dropped the hammer to those fish during the rest of your stay on Rainy lake!!
