Well……….. FINALLY “Sho-Time” was dipped into the golden waters of Rainy Lake. I’ve been completely consumed with our dock project, but finally finished it up this afternoon. I called the Queen and told her we’re going fishing when she’s off work!! My guide season starts tomorrow so needless to say I was feeling a bit stressed out with my lack of time on the water thus far.

Let me start by saying “Sho-Time” is simply a dream machine. It handles so nice and it is such a joy to fish from. Thank you SBC….Words cannot express our pride we have in our WX2100!!

OK……So we start hucking baits when Cheryl tells me she is going to need to be back for American Idol. I’ve got about 1 hour to fish after arriving to our first spot. 15 minutes into our spot I put the beans to a big fish. She dogs down and rips out drag. I can feel the stress exiting my body!! The fish is the first 10lb plus pike to slime up “Sho-Time” and tapes a very respectable 38 1/4 inches. The Queen is never to be outdone and 20 minutes later is saddled up with a lot of Ponies heading in the opposite direction. I took one look at a swell that was left behind this beast and knew this was the elite fish we’re after. I nearly had to sit Cheryl down as she was screaming with every run. As the fish whistled boatside There was no mistaken that massive head. I said calmy “Hun…. REMAIN CALM….That fish is 40+……CALM DOWN!!” LOL!! She did simply awesome and the fish hit the Frabill at the same time that big girl spit the hooks!!! The fish taped 43 inches!! I didn’t even have our fish scale in the boat yet, but it is fair to say she went 20LBS!!

Tonight was simply a very special night!! We don’t get to share the boat as much as we used to, and seeing my wife land that awesome pike was simply priceless. BTW…….She also made it back for American Idol!!

We also landed and quickly released a 27.5 inch Walleye.

Welcome to the 2011 Open water Rainydaze Edition!! We look forward to sharing the boat with the many repeat customers and always look forward to meeting new anglers. BTW…..BRING CAMERA!!

    Hey Jim

Nice to see you here on IDO!! YES…..WE made a very good call while re-scheduling your river trip. The River was simply Not very good early and then got even worse. I’m sure we would have got a few fish, but NOTHING like it can be.

Cheryl is pretty proud of that Pike Tom as well she should be. As a full-time fishing guide that definately gets after big pike I know how rare a 20lb fish is. Last year we landed 4? This year we already have 5!! Both pike seemed to be spawned out with saggy bellies.

I have this Saturday and Sunday available……..PACK THE TRUCK MEN. Grab your buddy, Get a Hotel/Motel, and GET UP HERE!! IT IS GO TIME for MASSIVE PIKE!! I’ll be guiding today, but will keep my cell phone on me for last minute bookings. My cell is 218-290-6102 (My site might be down shortly as we are getting very close to launching our brand new website!!)
