What a year!! Our year was certainly made more difficult due to tough travel conditions. The month of January unfortunately had our guide service pinned down due to 2 feet of slush underneath 2 feet of snow. Still a big salute to all of our customers. Lots of great fish were caught, memories made, and friendships forged. We feel very fortunate to have such a loyal base of customers each season, and are also happy to report that we have openings for pre-booked trips for the 2011/12 ice fishing season.

New next year to our business besides a new snowmobile will be some new smaller permanent houses. These houses are small roughly 5×8 and will be added to our fleet of portables allowing for even more options for our customers each day.

For groups looking to focus on big pike and walleyes I would suggest your trip scheduled between mid-December and the first week of February. For those looking to target big crappies I would suggest mid-February through the first week in April.

Again next year I will work in conjunction with a couple good friends whom also guide here on Rainy Lake. We can handle groups up to 20 people. Large groups will definately want to get on the books early to lock up our fish houses, lodging at local resorts…….

I would say my average group still is a group of 3-4 people staying for a few days.

Thanks so much for a wonderful ice fishing season everyone. Our biggest walleye was 30 inches on the nose. Biggest Pike was 22lbs. Biggest Crappie was 16 inches. Biggest Pout was 36 inches.

Our schedule next year is about 1/2 full at this point, so good dates still available!!

A BIG SALUTE TO ALL OF OUR CUSTOMERS TROPHY FISH!!

Thank you to Otter Outdoors, Marcum Technology, Snosuit, Custom Jigs and Spins, Lakemaster, and Strikemaster Augers!! As a fishing guide I depend on your products and advancements within the fishing industry. I am very proud to take you on the ice with me all winter!! Can’t wait to see what you have in store for the 2011/12 season!!

Looks like a great season Chris! I am sure you made a lot of peoples fishing experience one they will never forget.

Now its time to get ready to catch some fish in the new boat. As much fun as the new offshore 300 is going to be, remember you cant catch fish without your line in the water

WOW! What else is there to say….simply WOW!

Looking forward to June’s trip, but this has me thinking ahead to next ice season. Would definately like to take my father, (who’s a tax accontant, and has been saying he’s gonna retire in 3 years for the last 10), on a three day retirement ice-fishing trip with you. Can’t imagine a better retirement gift.

We’d love to get after them with you Mike!! Once you have booked a date those are your dates until you decide to give them up. At this point we have about 70% return customers that continue to lock up the same dates for the next season. We do have some very good dates available for next year tank walleyes,Pike or monster Crappies.

A special thanks NEEDS to go out to my good buddies Mike, Andy and Tucker!! These guys are longtime friends of mine that help beatdown trails to new fishing spots and frankly spent a fair amount of time on “DEAD BITES” looking to continue to have customers of Rainydaze Guide Service on productive bites. Even though our customers put some pretty impressive fish on the board this season there is little doubt our inability to mobilize actually held down our big fish totals.

Andy……Mike……Tucker… Grease up your sleds….2011/12…….JUST AROUND THE CORNER!! I will be spending some quality time this summer pinpointing new SEARCH and DESTROY locations for you boys Heck some of them might even hold fish!!

Wow! That is a very impressive catch for one winter Chris.
Without a doubt, you are the man when it comes to putting clients into great fish on Rainy Lake regardless of whether it’s winter or summer.
