This season has really progressed quickly and I can say this is the earliest I’ve roamed onto large lakes…in November! Reports of anywhere from 5-7″ covering Otter Tail, and some permanent shacks are hitting West Battle. Reports of 7-8″ there.
It’s a bit early to roam the vast wide open ice for me, but so far the bite has been positive where I roam closer to home (and shore).
After that snow event on Friday night we are left with about 1-2″ of light, fluffy snow on the ice and about 6″ on the ground. This week will remain cold with below zero at night making ice!
Still time to use extreme caution!
