Was out this weekend looking for crappies. Bad weather and bad bite for me, baitman, and bullhead. Water temps in the “warm” bays are 52. We are still cold with temps not warming to mid 40’s to 50ish until Sat. Water will stay cold with the cold, cloudy days and cold nights. Shinners are not in the shallows and bait shops are stuggling to locate some before Sat. Amoco bait does have rainbows (and leeches) however! Opener is going to be a challenge…stay flexible and don’t be afraid to try deep also! Thank God for the crappie fallback if all else fails. Pray for warming temps!
