Took advantage of an open Vacationland Resort cabin this weekend & hit OT with my fishing partner, Karen. 8 – 10 fow was the hot report and it didn’t take long for Karen to box 2 beautiful, chunky 17 and 18 inch ‘eyes… 1/8 ounce jig (color didn’t really seem to matter, we used perch, black and parrot) with lake shiners caught 3/4 of our fish. the others came rigging with a 4’ snell, plain #4 hook with shiner. Perch too numerous to count, large state record sized rock bass (at least a dozen) and a few northerns joined the parade to the frabill. We ended up 12 for 15 on ‘eyes with size ranging from 15 – 20 inches. (had 2 pigs drop the jig and 1 broke off a rig)

Today the wind is howling… Not sure if it’s time for another nap or time to drop 2 or 3 drift socks down.

Hope your Memorial weekend is great! Thanks to all our past, present and future military personnel for FREEDOM!!!

Better take a nap…. are the keys in your boat?

Rain looks to be about done, time to some more fish!

between naps I snuck out and hammered them… 1 mph, long lining 1/8 oz. jigs. went 8 for 11 and only 1 pesky perch in just over an hour….

trev I heard a rumor that one of you relatives named soup caught a 29.5 right in front of your resort the other night! Is this true? How is that evening crank bite going?

Funny how that fish grew a 1/2 inch since you found out about it…. I did see a photo of a 29″ eye in the hands of Soup so for once the guy took my advice and look what happened….you should try it sometime yourself. FYI – take your pontoon off the lift and put your boat back in the water… maybe you’ll catching something besides rock bass!!

this thread has been pretty quite lately. Trev must be too busy to post. I was out last weekend and had real good luck in that 15 to 20′ range on the bottom side of the weedline with leeches and lindy rigs… good luck
