The lake is froze, but use caution. 3 guys on a 4 wheeler went thru Sat night in the Grandpa’s Island area – only 2″ of ice! A guy also went thru on Norway Lake on Saturday which is just north of Underwood.
That said, everywhere i checked on the south/southwest side of the lake on Saturday had 8-9″ of ice. A couple smaller pressure ridges and cracks that had healed for the most part were the only trouble spots i encountered. As for the fishing, i’m still searching… Both areas that I’ve fished so far have produced great numbers of perch up to 10″ and a lot of small walleye’s (under 12″). So the search continue’s… possibly tomorrow. Be safe if you venture out, and feel free to PM or call me if you’re headed this way.
