Only the guy holding the fish can determine “worthiness.” To you it might not make the grade. To someone else it might represent a cherished memory. Congrats to the angler on a fine catch.

The pic does not do it justice as they did not have anything long enough to measure it but it was in the 40s according to the best guess.

Doesn’t matter what it measured at. As long as he had a license and it fell with in the DNR regulations then he can mount it up if he wants.

Lets not judge people for what is a trophy for them. For all we know the guy is from Florida and this was a once in a lifetime trip and catch for him.

I think he was from cotton,mn. He said it made the trip. Plus this fish was landed on a small rod and reel not a musky rod and reel design to horse them in.

I specialize in trophy class pike for a living and that’s a dandy! Great fish.

So would a fish like that bite after being lost at the top of the hole. Then after being landed bite again and be lost at a hole and then a few days later again bite and be lost at a hole?

Yes they can be very territorial in the winter and I have seen the same large fish caught a couple times in a week. One was so bad we had to move the house as it was the ONLY fish we could catch or see on the camera over the course of a couple days.
