Well I did it. I packed away the ice rods, treated the augers and attempted to mice proof the snowmobile for the season. I ended up working up north for a little bit and missed out on the last of the ice bite 
but…but…I did drag out the long rods and big tackle boxes; tomorrow the boat comes out of the shed for preparation. A little stint on the Rainy River chasing Sturgeon and hopefully after that winds up the ice pack on Upper Red will give us a few openings soon to start pecking away at springtime crappies!
