Big Crack – Unsafe Ice

    Just got a report from Jonny P on Upper Red, and he’s got word of a bad series of cracks in the ice just off shore.

    Approx. 1/8th mi. north of the Tamarack River is a 10 foot wide myriad of cracks which extend in several directions. Because of how cold it is, they appear frozen over and are covered with skim ice. Jon skipped over with a snowmobile, but you’re taking your life into your own hands in that portion of the lake right now.

    I’ll just read about the guys falling through attempting to get out to early. For the life of me I don’t understand why some people need to tempt fate going out early.
