Had a thin skim of ice on a backwater I fished on the Chippewa River yesterday morning, it will not take much to freeze the small protected first ice bays this time of year…..keep the faith, its supposed to get cold around Thanksgiving
Please guys, let us have our fun. Those of us who suffer through winter to get the chance to sit in the sun in the boat are enjoying this no end. Your turn will come.
Maybe if could go ice fishing with someone who actually knew what they were doing it might help my attitude toward hard water fishing.
Those pictures are a site for sore eyes Matt Thanks

northstar you came to the right place all you have to do is read and ask questions just about everybody is willing to help a guy out. A good place to start is reading the ice forum and last years ice fishing reports. Then post some questions…
Walked across a frozen ditch today, rifle stayed dry so that is a good sign.
I am awaiting the ice, that makes red lake calm, that makes the water clear, that makes the pike go on a feeding binge before they move out deep, that makes Jonny happy.

And once the ice comes and Red gets calm and the water clears and the pike go on a binge if Jonny was to call James then maybe I could be happy too?
