Walleye season is over now untill May and it ended very well. Now we are onto the crappie dash. With most of the anglers leaving the lake the fishing pressure has been reduced greatly and it shows. The crappies are really much easier to find now. One guide came into the resort tonight with 12 nice slabs. After the snow storm passes through I really think the crappies action could increase. The best way to find them is to still be able to move. We have a good idea where to look for them so you won’t need to travel all over the lake just to hook into a nice crappie. Punching several holes in a couple hundred yard area will usually get you results. We still have sleeper houses on the lake and are going to keep them out as long as we have a use for them. The houses are a great place to stay and do some fishing but we urge you to bring an auger and we will point you in the right direction for your best chance to get some action. The walleyes are still around too, a little catch and release is always fun. We will keep you updated on the findings in the upcoming days. Remember March is just around the corner and we all know thats the best crappie fishing time. Good Luck.
Also we have some more snow and the snowmobile trails are in great shape. They were just groomed and should be setup great for the weekend.
