Okay, Russ. Everyone got their limit in 30 minutes….Until next time.,that’s the report…………………………..he,he,he,
The fish are still biting ,still not much for crappie though. Seems to be a lot more smaller northerns being caught this year, in that 20 -25 inch range. We finally can go offroading again, now that the snow has froze back tight. What a weekend ,though, a real mess, water freezing with a crust that you break through and get stuck. Several times over the weekend I got to listen to some guy chew me out when I came to help them out, some even when they did not listen and took a wrong road. I guess they figure I make those conditions on purpose just for fun. Some people have no patience and yet they call themselves fishermen. And then there is the complete opposite fellow, apologizing profusely for taking the wrong road and having to ask me to help him out. You can guess which guy I want back as a customer. I had one road blocked off with a van and big frozen ice/snow balls 2 feet high. The guy moves the ice balls ,drives down the road 1/4 mile and breaks through. Wow, was he red, but at least he was still of good cheer. So now it is all froze up again, the side roads are rough but passable. I still have my houses 9 miles out, less than a week now for walleyes, so hurry up here and get you some!
so you are saying trucks are just fine now huh, or would you recommend 4wheelers and sleds. I am headed up there this weekend and just trying to figure out what to bring up
4 wheel drive would be your best option. Wheeler or sleds would be ok. There are roads that are quite bumpy and roads that are smooth as glass.Depending on if they were driven on when they were refreezing. The conditions went from the snow being like mashed potatos to rock hard. Not sure what you were thinking Jeff when you let the roads melt like that. The best fishing for us was again closer to shore with one or two crappies caught from 2 miles to 9 miles out. Spence and his dad fished hard punched many holes and were rewarded with 6 elusive upper red lake crappies. They even lost a couple. I even got a couple of pics.
We are having a big get together march 20th and 21rst to catch the last “few crappies” in the lake. We are giving away a couple of great prizes and I’m offering almost 50% off of my sleeper houses. We also plan on serving up coney hot dogs while we search for the mother load.
Jeff & Cookie- how long do you guess before taking your houses off?, is there an extention for houses north of #200 north this year?
As long as the ice is thick enough I will be chasing crappie well into March and will more then likly take them off the 22nd of march if all are plans work out and mother nature plays her part. Last tear the last day I drove on the lake was april 7th

Well, I do have some uncanny abilities, but turning ice into water on such a grand scale,aw…shucks, I humbly accept your , after all women have called out to me oh god, oh god on many occasions

Hey cateyes, I relieved your brother of some of his stale golden light tonight , they had 5 keepers this afternoon, not too bad for a beginner
