well it seems like its that time of the month for those buggers to slow up some;- not just eyes and gators but pannies too!
now im not talking about big lakes but smaller lakes where the oxyen is giveing out and the fish are feeling the “lack of interest” to bite,; the snow is deep, theres no sunshine that can get through, the vegetaion is not produceing, and I always hated seeing a full moon in Feb for 1 week before and 2 weeks after in Feb;
im sure others will diagree but were talking winter ice and odds against us and the fish for a few weeks–
we did put in alot of hours around the PineCenter area this weekend and it was slow on 4 lakes that were small–
the fish were there but to sluggish to bite,;- what we did catch were just barely starting to produce eggs and the males had no sperm yet, there stomachs were empty or had a few mud bugs in them;; we didnt see hardly and larvy in the little lakes even the ones with a muddy bottom– its a lot different in Red and by next week there should be some larve coming out to get there feeding bags on;;- 1 thing i do know is if you find the bugs you will find the fish;;-
they dont all hatch at once and the fish know it before we do;;- now i cant swear by this but the sun comes up on the east and south;; i always smiled because fishing the middle -6- miles out kept the sunlight on the lake earlier and later;;- more sun the quicker the heat penatration and the bugs come out of the mud and the fish start following, same with the north shore that has more humps to draw the heat quicker and has more mud or silt as they call it;;
anyway good luck
