Just a few days left in the deer
season for 2008. We are 4 for 6
on hunter success but deer are
getting harder to see. The herd
seems to be down this year. The
cold weather is putting some ice
on Upper Red. Today is the first
day that I cannot see any open
water. The ice may be walkable
by Thanksgiving this year, a bit
    earlier than years past. Keep
    checking in…we will keep you
    posted on ice conditions!!

As the 2008 deer season came to
an end we finished up 5 for 7
(three bucks & two does). Not
too bad for a somewhat down year.
We have a little over 4 inches of
ice in most places on Upper Red,
some rough areas here and there
    but overall reasonably smooth.
    With temps to continue somewhat
mild this week it will slow the
    icemaking process a little but
ATV traffic may be possible in
    most areas by after Thanksgiving!

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!! Today
is a good day to stay inside and enjoy
turkey and maybe some football, seeing
as the NW winds are howling at around
25 mph. We now have 5″ of ice or more
in most areas of the lake. There have
been a few walleye being caught but
the water is pretty cloudy yet. The
bite should improve as the clarity of
the water gets better! Anyway have a
great holiday weekend & stay safe!!!!
