Red Lake Walleye

Got up to Kelliher at around 6:50 am friday morning. Stopped at the local bait shop to pick up some bait. To my surprise the bait shop was locked with a parking lot full of people waiting for bait. 45 min. to an hour later we finally get some bait and get back on the road. So we get out on the big lake from ROGERS campground excited to fish. Hooked up with Portavilla who we rented our shacks from, they actually had a heated bathroom out on the ice for us SWEET!!! Got fishing between 9 am and 10 am . No bites until 3pm the first walleye hit out our shack (our group had six different shacks rented) then between 3pm -10pm are shack caught 2 more (with 5-6 bites missed due to shack hopping with the “captain”) only 4 more walleye were caught that night with one reported to be 24inches. Saturday completely sucked with me catching one perch and one of th other shacks catching 2 walleyes ALL DAY !!!! The worst part of the weekend was friday night I was going to bed (top bunk) my phone slides out of my pocket goes about three to four feet across the shack does the one bounce and down the hole it went!!!Sunday we packed up and headed to Mille Lacs for a few hours on the way home .
